Egypt is preparing to launch innovative financing solutions for infrastructure projects after consultations with the World Bank, Minister Ahmed Rostom announced during meetings in the United States.
Rostom met with World Bank Senior Expert Katiana Kaelouri on the sidelines of the UN High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development in New York to finalize mechanisms for upcoming infrastructure funding initiatives.
He also held talks with World Bank Vice President Pablo Saavedra and Regional Director Sandeep Mahajan to present Egypt’s 2026/27 development plan and 2026/27–2029/30 medium-term strategy, recently approved by the House of Representatives. These plans target sustained economic growth, higher private investments, the “Decent Life” initiative, comprehensive health insurance rollout, and increased human capital spending.
Rostom said the ministry is implementing a clear vision to upgrade the planning system and enhance public investment efficiency. He noted the economy’s resilience with 5.1 per cent growth in the first nine months of the previous fiscal year and praised the long-standing partnership with the World Bank in support of Egypt Vision 2030.
