The session explored ways to deepen cooperation and bolster the local tourism sector. Topics included proposals to increase inbound tourist flows to South Sinai, enhance service quality, boost Egypt’s tourism competitiveness, and draw more investments to the region. Fathy reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to wider coordination with the governorate, aiming to support the industry and clear obstacles for investors and operators, particularly in Sharm El-Sheikh. He noted the governorate’s diverse assets, capable of attracting varied visitors via beach tourism, cultural and spiritual tourism, conferences and events, shopping, and specialized pursuits like birdwatching. The minister stressed intensifying promotions for these segments and developing new attractions for international markets to improve visitor experiences. Kamal voiced the governorate’s full backing for tourism as a key economic driver in South Sinai. He committed local authorities to resolving challenges affecting tourism, with goals of higher arrivals and investment growth. Ahmed Youssef, CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board, attended alongside senior ministry officials and the regional office in Sharm El-Sheikh.
