An unknown object exploded at an entrance in Stockholm's Tensta area on Sunday evening. Police launched a major operation across northern Stockholm with no reported injuries. An investigation into public endangerment and explosives violations is underway.
Police received the alert at 22:27 on Sunday evening following "a large number" of calls about an explosion at an entrance in Tensta, northwestern Stockholm. An unknown object detonated, causing limited damage to the door, according to police spokesperson Ola Österling.
"We have so far not received any reports of any injuries occurring," Österling said. The police operation covers all of northern Stockholm, with bomb technicians en route to the scene.
A preliminary investigation has been opened for suspected public endangerment and gross violation of the law on explosive and flammable goods. No individuals have been detained in connection with the incident.
