An explosion occurred late on Wednesday evening at a villa in the Ronna district of Södertälje. No one was injured but a minor fire broke out in bushes. Police are investigating the incident as general dangerous destruction.
The incident took place shortly before midnight on 6 May. According to the rescue service something exploded outdoors on the villa plot and caused a limited fire.
Andreas Blomquist, duty officer at the rescue service, confirmed that the fire was extinguished quickly and that the villa itself did not suffer major damage. Police are now examining whether violations of the law on flammable and explosive goods have occurred.
Several similar explosions have been reported in Södertälje during the past month. Authorities have not yet provided any details about suspected persons or motives.
