Four people from one family died and a nine-year-old girl was seriously injured on Sunday in a traffic accident on the A-67 in Herrera de Pisuerga.
The incident occurred around 16:20 at kilometer 83 of the A-67 in the decreasing direction. The car left the road and rolled over several times, trapping the occupants inside.
The family was from Valladolid and was returning from Cantabria. The Government Sub-delegation reported that the main hypothesis is possible driver drowsiness, according to eyewitnesses.
Emergency services, including the Civil Guard, firefighters and medical teams, responded to the accident. The girl was transferred by medical helicopter to the Burgos Healthcare Complex.
The incident caused the left lane to be closed at the indicated point, according to the Dirección General de Tráfico.
