Seattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodríguez was placed on the seven-day concussion injured list Friday. The move followed an incident in Thursday night's game against the Los Angeles Angels.
Rodríguez was hit in the back of the helmet by a throw during a double-play attempt. The 78.2 mph throw from Angels first baseman Nolan Schanuel struck him while he advanced from first to third on a grounder by Dominic Canzone.
He left the game in the third inning after initially staying in for one more inning. Manager Dan Wilson and head athletic trainer Kyle Torgerson checked on him during the game.
Utilityman Miles Mastrobuoni was selected from Triple-A Tacoma to replace him on the roster. Right-hander Cooper Criswell was transferred to the 60-day injured list with a right shoulder strain.
