From Monday 29 June Kungsgatan in central Uppsala will be closed to through traffic between Vaksalagatan and Råbyvägen. The closure runs until 17 July as part of Trafikverket work on railway crossings.
The work forms part of Trafikverket’s project to build two grade-separated railway crossings at S:t Persgatan and S:t Olofsgatan. Water and sewage pipes are also being moved deeper underground to match the new tunnel gradient.
Charlii Enström, project manager at Trafikverket, says adjustments have been made at intersections so bus traffic can flow as smoothly as possible. Buses are rerouted mainly via Väderkvarnsgatan.
Several UL routes receive changed paths and the stops Vaksalagatan, Klostergatan and Skolgatan on Kungsgatan are temporarily withdrawn. The section remains open to pedestrians.
