The KytyPS5 emulator project has reached a new milestone by successfully loading the menus and settings screen of the PlayStation 5 version of Grand Theft Auto V.
Developers of KytyPS5 reported that the emulator can now boot several three-dimensional PlayStation 5 titles. These include the PlayStation 5 versions of Quake 2, Pac-Man World, and PowerWash Simulator, in addition to Grand Theft Auto V.
The current focus remains on fixing compatibility and boot issues. Future work will address visual glitches and frame rate performance.
Other PlayStation 5 emulation projects such as SharpEmu and RPCSX have also shown recent progress. This activity follows the absence of a confirmed personal computer release for Grand Theft Auto 6 and changes to physical media support on PlayStation 5 consoles.
