María Pía Silva Gallinato and Catalina Lagos Tschorne were elected to head the Constitutional Tribunal for two years. The vote took place Thursday during an extraordinary plenary session.
María Pía Silva Gallinato will assume the presidency on July 10, 2026. She succeeds Daniela Marzi, who has held the post since 2024.
The election was decided by absolute majority of the plenary members. Silva Gallinato will lead until the end of her term, while Lagos Tschorne will serve the remainder until July 10, 2028.
