Major League Baseball has officially changed the scoring on a play from Tuesday's game to a four-base error on Los Angeles Angels right fielder Jo Adell.
The decision came three days after the initial ruling. The ball hit Adell's glove and then his head before clearing the fence in the fourth inning. Colorado Rockies player TJ Rumfield had been credited with a solo home run off pitcher Grayson Rodriguez. The change gives Rumfield an 0-for-1 in the at-bat and removes an earned run from Rodriguez's stats. This marks only the second four-base error in MLB history, both involving Adell. The first occurred during his rookie season in 2020. Adell spoke to reporters after the Angels' 8-2 loss and took responsibility for the misplay.
