Grammy-winning R&B singer Muni Long just spilled the tea on her life-saving double lung transplant after doctors gave her one week to live. The 37-year-old lupus fighter faced her mortality head-on for her son.
Muni Long dropped the bombshell on Good Morning America, recounting how she was stunned by the diagnosis. "My jaw dropped. Literally," she said, adding that doctors told her it was no joke — hospice or new lungs.
She initially worried about her voice but chose survival after thinking of her three-year-old son Tatum. "I can't sing if I'm not here," Long explained, putting ego aside.
The star also admitted regretting joining Brandy and Monica's tour last year while battling pneumonia. Now feeling fabulous post-op, doctors say it could be six months to a year before she performs again.
Social media is flooded with well wishes. So... when's the comeback tour, Muni?
