Saleh Mohamed, 29, has been charged with murdering his wife and two young sons at their Cheektowaga home before driving to Buffalo and killing a store clerk, officials said.
Saleh Mohamed allegedly used a legally registered 9 mm handgun to shoot his 26-year-old wife, Ayesha Abdullah, and their sons, ages 4 and 3, on Monday afternoon. He then drove 15 minutes to Buffalo, where he killed a 43-year-old deli clerk. Police arrived at the Cheektowaga house for a welfare check and arrested Mohamed when he returned shortly afterward. Erie County District Attorney Michael Keane said Mohamed has been charged with one count of first-degree murder and three counts of second-degree murder for the family deaths, plus one count of second-degree murder for the clerk. Mohamed has no prior criminal record and is being held without bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday. Officials noted that Mohamed and the victims are from the same Yemeni community, though the connection to the clerk remains under investigation.
