Nintendo announced its financial results for the period ending March 31, 2026, revealing strong initial sales for the Switch 2. The console has sold 19.86 million units worldwide since its launch last June, along with 48.71 million software units. Despite the success, the company has reduced its sales outlook for the next year.
Nintendo reported the figures overnight, noting that sales were more concentrated in the launch year compared to previous systems. The company expects 16.5 million Switch 2 units to sell in the coming financial year, a decline from the prior estimate, partly due to strong launch performance and upcoming price revisions in the US, Canada, Japan, and Europe that take effect later this year. Officials stated they still view this as a solid level of adoption in the console's second year.
