Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) has launched new direct flights between Manila and Palau, a Pacific island-nation known for its world-class marine attractions. PAL president Richard Nuttall said the service reinforces Manila's role as a regional transit hub and gateway for medical tourism. The airline has also resumed Manila-Saipan flights.
Philippine Airlines (PAL) has introduced direct flights from Manila to Palau, operating every Wednesday and Sunday. Departures from Manila are at 9:45 p.m., arriving in Palau at 1:30 a.m. the next day. Return flights run every Monday and Thursday, leaving Palau at 3:10 a.m. and landing in Manila at 4:55 a.m.
PAL president Richard Nuttall stated, “This launch reinforces Manila’s position as a key regional transit hub while strengthening its role as a gateway for medical tourism. It also underscores PAL’s role as a reliable bridge connecting Pacific communities with the broader Asia-Pacific region.” He added, “Passengers will experience the flag carrier’s world-class, heartfelt service as they fly between two island destinations – the Philippines and Palau.”
Complementing the new route, PAL has resumed direct Manila-Saipan flights to the Northern Marianas, also twice weekly on Wednesdays and Sundays, departing Manila at 7:45 p.m. and arriving at 1:45 a.m. Returns are Mondays and Thursdays from Saipan at 2:50 a.m. to Manila at 5:05 a.m. Both routes use Airbus A321ceo aircraft with 12 business-class and 187 economy seats, plus wireless in-flight entertainment.
These services expand PAL's cargo offerings, positioning Manila as a key hub for Pacific shipments and beyond. They form part of PAL's network growth focused on North America and the Pacific, including routes to Guam and Honolulu.
