Rina Sawayama announced on social media that she has completed dozens of new tracks while balancing acting commitments.
The musician posted a video on June 30 detailing her recent activities. She said she spent two years writing music and produced 40 to 50 songs with various producers before settling on a collaborator.
Sawayama is currently on break from filming the John Wick spin-off Caine. She described intensive training for the role and noted she has finished work on the Apple TV series Prodigies.
She explained that the process now involves refining lyrics, harmonies and arrangements. Sawayama added that she may adopt a natural appearance for the upcoming album campaign to focus on performance.
Her previous film appearance was in John Wick: Chapter 4, where she played Shimazu Akira and contributed the song Eye For An Eye to the soundtrack.
