Influencer Sara Gilson and estranged husband Jeremiah Shawn Duffey were found dead from gunshot wounds in Owasso, Oklahoma, on July 23. The deaths followed her July 11 viral TikTok accusing him of being a pedophile.
Sara Gilson posted a TikTok on July 11 joining a Netflix documentary trend. She wrote, “Preparing for when Netflix drops a documentary about my soon to be ex husband who I just found out is a pedophile,” with the caption “I wish I was joking.” The video has over 10.2 million views.
On July 23 a child in the home called 911. Police arrived after 11 p.m. and found both adults with gunshot wounds. An extended family member told KTUL that Duffey broke into the home. Cops have not formally ruled the case a murder-suicide.
Court records show Gilson filed protective orders against Duffey in 2021 and again on June 10. The June order, extended through August 24, required him to stay 100 yards away. A second June 10 order protected a 15-year-old girl he coached in basketball.
