The satirical Off-Broadway show Slam Frank began offering its original cast recording for download on July 7. The 14-track album features songs from the production that reimagines Anne Frank's story through a modern lens.
The recording is available exclusively on the show's website for $20. It includes tracks such as “Yeast of Edith,” “Non-Binary,” and “Herstory.” Previews for the musical's return are scheduled to begin September 17 at the Orpheum Theatre, with opening night set for October 4.
Andrew Fox, who wrote the music and lyrics, cited influences from artists including Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Eminem, Stephen Sondheim, and Lin-Manuel Miranda. The album was produced by Fox and Mikhail Pivovarov at several New York-area studios.
The show first opened last September at the Asylum in Hell’s Kitchen. A GoFundMe campaign raised $60,000 to fund the recording, exceeding its initial $30,000 goal.
