Tesla has begun offering its new entry-level Model Y Standard for order in select European countries, with deliveries starting in November. The model features a 534 km WLTP range and includes Basic Autopilot, setting it apart from the US version. Production will occur at Giga Berlin to target regional competitors.
Tesla's Model Y Standard, introduced shortly after its US debut, is now available for ordering in parts of Europe, marking the vehicle's global expansion. First deliveries are scheduled for November 2025, and the cars will be manufactured at Gigafactory Berlin to support local production and compete with European and Chinese EV makers.
The European variant boasts a 534 km WLTP range, slightly higher than the US model's 516 km EPA equivalent of 321 miles, due to testing differences. Tesla emphasizes affordability with leasing options as low as €299 per month before incentives in some countries, positioning it against traditional internal combustion engine vehicles. Key features include a 15.4-inch touchscreen with Tesla Theater, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, Sentry Mode, Dog Mode, and full access to the Tesla app's safety and convenience tools.
A notable difference from the US is the inclusion of Basic Autopilot as standard, while the US version limits buyers to Traffic-aware Cruise Control unless they purchase Full Self-Driving for $8,000 or subscribe at $99 monthly. This makes the European model a stronger value proposition. Pricing reflects cuts of 7,500 to 11,000 euros ($8,700 to $12,800) compared to the Model Y Premium RWD, offering 16% less range but retaining essential features.
In contrast, the US launch has drawn criticism for a 36-mile range reduction, loss of Autopilot, and a $2,500 price increase over prior models, limiting market expansion. The European rollout, however, is seen as more favorable, potentially broadening access to Tesla's popular SUV amid a competitive landscape.
