A woman got into trouble while bathing in the Ruhr in Hattingen and injured herself at a boat chute.
The woman had strayed with a swimming ring into the boat chute below the Ruhr bridge and injured herself in the process. Companions first placed her on a SUP board and secured her on a dividing wall.
Together with water rescuers from the DLRG the helpers brought the injured woman to shore with the SUP board. The rescue service took over further care there and transported her to a hospital.
A boat chute is a sloped ramp at a weir that allows canoes and small boats to overcome height differences.
