Zverev had reached three previous major finals without a win. Those losses came at the U.S. Open in 2020, the French Open in 2024 and the Australian Open earlier this season.The match began with Zverev dominating the first set 6-1. Cobolli fought back to take the second set 6-4 and later forced a fifth set after winning the fourth in a tiebreak.Zverev regained control in the deciding set, breaking early and closing out the match 6-1.
