Iranian director Asghar Farhadi returned to the Cannes Film Festival with the premiere of his French-language drama Parallel Tales. The film, starring Isabelle Huppert, received a standing ovation from the audience.
The two-hour-and-20-minute movie follows a novelist who spies on her neighbors for inspiration. Farhadi, who last attended Cannes with his 2021 film A Hero, appeared on stage alongside cast members including Catherine Deneuve and Virginie Efira after the screening at the Grand Théâtre Lumière on Thursday night. Huppert wore a bright red gown during the event.
