Barry Manilow postpones May Las Vegas shows amid cancer recovery

Barry Manilow has postponed his May residency shows at Westgate Las Vegas as he continues recovering from lung cancer surgery. The 82-year-old singer shared positive updates from his doctor but said he is not yet ready to perform. He plans to resume touring in June with UK arena shows.

Barry Manilow announced the postponement of his May shows at Westgate Las Vegas in a message to fans on Friday, May 1. “I went to the doctor yesterday and he said I’m making great progress and look great! Well of course I do! Thank you very much! All the training and exercising I’ve put in is paying off,” Manilow wrote. “He did say, however, that I’m not quite ready for Vegas. That means I won’t be able to return for our May shows at [Las Vegas’ Westgate].” Now cancer-free, Manilow expects to return to the Westgate stage in July, calling it his “home away from home.”The delay follows a series of postponements since Manilow revealed his Stage 1 lung cancer diagnosis in December 2025. He underwent surgery in late December to remove a cancerous spot from his left lung and has not performed since. Earlier delays included his February and March Las Vegas residency dates, as well as arena tour dates originally set for January through May, all on his doctor's advice for more recovery time.Manilow confirmed he will be ready for his June arena shows in the UK. The same month, he is set to release his first new album in nearly 15 years, What a Time, on June 5. His farewell tour, billed as The Last Concerts, has rescheduled dates through December 2026, and his Las Vegas residency is scheduled to continue at Westgate.
