Plaza de Cayzedo is Cali city hall's official proposal for president-elect Abelardo de la Espriella's inauguration on August 7. Mayor Alejandro Éder stated that the district administration offered the site for the ceremony, followed by a procession to the Antigua FES building.
Éder reaffirmed the city's support. “We reiterate our willingness to support the president-elect and his team for the inauguration ceremony in Cali,” he said. He added that Cali is prepared to handle logistics and security.
Valle del Cauca Governor Dilian Francisca Toro backed the decision. She noted that the event represents recognition for the region and a symbol of hope for pending projects in southwestern Colombia.
