خفضت الحكومة المركزية عدد مرات إعادة تعبئة أسطوانات غاز البترول المسال المدعومة ضمن برنامج 'برادان مانتري أوجوالا يوجانا' (PMUY) من تسع إلى أربع مرات سنوياً، وذلك في ظل ضغوط الإمدادات العالمية المرتبطة بالنزاع في غرب آسيا.

أبلغت وزارة البترول والغاز الطبيعي بهذا التغيير في 7 يونيو 2026 إلى جانب بيان صحفي حول زيادة أسعار غاز البترول المسال المحلي بقيمة 29 روبية. وذكر سكرتير إضافي بالوزارة، برافين خانوجا، أن متوسط الاستهلاك بين المستفيدين من برنامج PMUY يبلغ حوالي أربع إلى خمس أسطوانات سنوياً، وهو ما يتوافق بشكل كبير مع المخصصات المعدلة. بدأ البرنامج في عام 2016 وتم خفض الحصة السنوية من 12 إلى تسع، ثم إلى أربع حالياً. وتبلغ تكلفة الأسطوانة بوزن 14.2 كجم حالياً 942 روبية في دلهي، ومع دعم قدره 300 روبية، يدفع المستفيدون 642 روبية للأسطوانة الواحدة.

Of the 1,368 cylinders set aside daily, only about 50-55% are being purchased from Oil Marketing Companies.
