Cyndi Lauper sharply rebuked a heckler during the opening night of her Las Vegas residency on April 24. The singer addressed the interruption while introducing a song, prompting cheers from the crowd at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Her response highlighted her Brooklyn roots amid the lively performance.
Cyndi Lauper launched her residency 'Cyndi Lauper: Live in Las Vegas' at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Friday, April 24. While introducing the track 'Sally’s Pigeons' from her album 'Hat Full of Stars', a heckler interrupted the two-time Grammy winner. Lauper immediately responded, saying, “I don’t know what the fuck you’re saying, hon.” She continued, “But please remember where you are, OK? Because if you’re trying to shade me, bitch, I’m gonna come for you. I’m from Brooklyn, and if I wanna fucking talk, I will do a tap dance if I fucking want. Sorry, that of course is not part of my people skills.” The crowd applauded her words before she resumed the show. The residency follows her 69-date 'Girls Just Want to Have Fun' farewell tour, which ended last August. This run concludes on May 2, with a one-off performance scheduled for June 20 at Atlantis Bahamas Paradise Island. Lauper's recent honors include induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last year. Chappell Roan inducted her, wearing a replica of the skirt from Lauper's 'True Colors' video and sharing how the song impacted her childhood in Missouri.
