أطلقت رئيسة الوزراء ريخا جوبتا حملة «احصد المطر 2026» خلال حدث نظمته هيئة مياه دلهي. وكشفت عن التعويذة الرسمية للمياه الخاصة بالحملة، «نيرا»، وحثت على تجديد التركيز على حصاد مياه الأمطار وإعادة تغذية المياه الجوفية في جميع أنحاء دلهي.

وقالت السيدة جوبتا يوم الجمعة: "لم تعد أزمة المياه مجرد موضوع للنقاش، بل تتطلب إجراءات فورية وحاسمة".

وأشارت إلى أن تزايد عدد السكان والتوسع الحضري السريع يؤديان إلى ارتفاع الطلب على المياه في ظل محدودية المصادر. وأضافت: "مع تزايد عدد السكان والتوسع الحضري السريع الذي يدفع الطلب نحو الارتفاع، وفي ظل محدودية مصادر المياه، يجب إعطاء الأولوية لحصاد مياه الأمطار".

وتهدف الحملة إلى معالجة أزمة المياه المستمرة في المدينة من خلال اتخاذ تدابير استباقية.
