Former Abuyog vice mayor and son found killed

Former Abuyog vice mayor James Bohol and his son Carlou James were found dead on June 30, 2026, three days after their abduction.

The bodies of Bohol, 60, and Carlou James, 28, were discovered in Barangay Imelda, Silago, Southern Leyte. They had been abducted on June 27 from their office in Barangay Santa Cruz, Mayorga, Leyte by three unidentified men.

According to Faye Bohol, James’s daughter, the suspects used a Mitsubishi Mirage with plate number GBA 6637. They were later seen at Santa Clara Port in Allen, Northern Samar, boarding a gray Toyota Hilux with plate number HAH 5228.

Abuyog Mayor Lemuel Traya said police confirmed the deaths of the former official and his son. The Philippine National Police Regional Office 8 continues to investigate possible motives including business dealings.
