GoTyme Bank's 'Madame Alam' web series aims to demystify cybersecurity for Filipinos navigating mobile banking. Portrayed by actress Boots Anson-Roa Rodrigo, Madame Alam embodies a savvy grandmother who draws from experiences spanning traditional bank visits to digital transactions, offering straightforward defenses against scammers. In her debut, she highlights past tricks like fake IDs for loans and stresses safeguarding personal data in today's world.

She advises against clicking unsolicited text links, verifying email senders, and relying on the bank's in-app biometric authentication. Future episodes cover avoiding sharing one-time passwords (OTPs), choosing secure logins, and using virtual cards to minimize risks. Her ethos underscores that 'security trumps loyalty when protecting money,' urging users to outsmart fraudsters decisively.

Nate Clarke, president and CEO of GoTyme Bank, stated: 'Our mission is to unlock every Filipino’s financial potential—and that starts with confidence. Cybersecurity doesn’t have to be complicated. Through Madame Alam, we’re making fraud prevention relatable and easy to understand, so people can bank securely and focus on achieving their goals.'

Chief information officer Gigi Puno added: 'Our priority is simple: to keep our customers’ hard-earned money safe. By combining advanced security features with relatable education through Madame Alam, we’re making banking secure and easy for everyone.'

The series not only spotlights GoTyme Bank's cutting-edge protections but also promotes behavioral shifts among users. Developed in partnership with the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group, it delivers practical, simplified lessons, reinforcing the bank's unwavering commitment to top-tier security that withstands even Madame Alam's rigorous standards.
