Authorities in Guerrero found the body of a Guardia Nacional agent, tortured and bound, on a federal highway near Acapulco. The man, identified as 37-year-old Daniel Gómez Hernández, was abandoned by unknown individuals along with messages alluding to organized crime. The event underscores ongoing violence in the area.

On the night of Friday, December 19, residents alerted authorities to a body dumped on the Mexico-Acapulco federal highway at kilometer 21 in a rural area of Acapulco, Guerrero. The victim was identified as Daniel Gómez Hernández, an active Guardia Nacional agent around 37 years old.

Eyewitnesses described four individuals, dressed in black and traveling in a Tsuru car with tinted windows, arriving at the scene and discarding the body before speeding away. The vehicle was marked as a collective taxi, but its direction remains unknown.

Upon arrival, security forces secured the area and discovered two cardboard signs with messages allegedly linked to criminal groups. The body showed clear signs of torture, was bound with ropes and black and green cables, and had gunshot wounds to the head.

The Guerrero State General Prosecutor's Office (FGE) conducted the necessary investigations at the site. The body was then transferred to the Forensic Medical Service in Acapulco for legal procedures and safekeeping. This incident is part of the wave of violence plaguing Guerrero, where security personnel face constant threats from organized crime.
