Guillermo del Toro to present restored Pan's Labyrinth at Cannes

Guillermo del Toro is bringing a 4K restoration of his Oscar-winning film Pan's Labyrinth back to the Cannes Film Festival, 20 years after its world premiere there. The restored version will open the Cannes Classics sidebar. Del Toro, who supervised the restoration from the original 35mm negative, plans to attend the event.

Pan's Labyrinth first premiered at Cannes two decades ago, earning a record-breaking 22-minute standing ovation. Now, director Guillermo del Toro is returning the film to the festival with a newly restored 4K version. He personally oversaw every stage of the restoration process, working from the original 35mm negative to ensure high quality for modern audiences. Del Toro will be present at the screening to mark the occasion. The restored film is set to open the Cannes Classics sidebar, a section dedicated to restored classics and tributes.
