Hasbro cancels single-player Dungeons & Dragons game at Giant Skull

Hasbro has cancelled a single-player Dungeons & Dragons action-adventure game in development at Giant Skull. The studio, led by Star Wars Jedi director Stig Asmussen, received the news earlier this year, less than a year after the project was announced.

Wizards of the Coast, the Hasbro-owned publisher behind Dungeons & Dragons, confirmed it decided not to pursue the early concept from Giant Skull. A spokesperson stated the company assesses concepts at every stage and holds respect for Asmussen and his team while maintaining their ongoing relationship. Asmussen noted that things remain good at the studio and that he is discussing publishing deals with other companies. The cancellation follows Hasbro's earlier announcement of the project roughly one year prior and comes amid broader cost-cutting at the company.
