في إطار حملة تسجيل الناخبين لعام 2026 التي أطلقتها الهيئة المستقلة للانتخابات والحدود في كينيا في 30 مارس، تم تسجيل 1,876,274 ناخباً جديداً، وهو ما يمثل 75% من الهدف المنشود البالغ 2.5 مليون ناخب، مع تبقي أربعة أيام فقط على انتهاء الحملة في 28 أبريل. وقد حث رئيس الهيئة، إراستوس إيدونغ إيثيكون، المواطنين المؤهلين الذين لم يسجلوا بعد على المسارعة للتسجيل.

أعلنت الهيئة المستقلة للانتخابات والحدود (IEBC) في 24 أبريل أنها سجلت 1,876,274 ناخباً جديداً منذ بدء الحملة التي تستمر 30 يوماً في 30 مارس في مراكز 'هدوما' ومواقع أخرى، محققة بذلك 75% من هدفها الأولي البالغ 2.5 مليون ناخب، وذلك ضمن مساعٍ أوسع تهدف إلى تسجيل 5.8 مليون شاب محتمل قبل انتخابات عام 2027.

وأكد رئيس الهيئة إراستوس إيدونغ إيثيكون قائلاً: "لم يتبق سوى أربعة أيام؛ ونحث جميع المواطنين المؤهلين الذين لم يسجلوا بعد على اغتنام هذه الفرصة". إن وجود سجل انتخابي مكتمل أمر حيوي لضمان نزاهة الانتخابات دستورياً.

أبرز المقاطعات من حيث عدد التسجيلات الجديدة: نيروبي (أكثر من 209,000)، كيامبو (97,557)، ناكورو (81,166)، كاكاميغا (80,711)، ماشاكوس (65,616)، بونغوما (62,203)، وميرو (56,486). بينما سجلت أرقام أقل في لامو (8,345) وإيسيولو (9,291). وشملت متوسطات مقاطعات نيانزا: كيسومو (37,090)، سيايا (33,295)، هوما باي (39,770)، وميغوري (37,004).

نشاط إضافي: قام 159,410 ناخباً بنقل مراكز اقتراعهم، بينما قام 2,817 ناخباً بتحديث بياناتهم. وتواصل هيئة الانتخابات الحفاظ على النزاهة من خلال نظام التحقق متعدد الخطوات.
