Former Formula 1 champion Jacques Villeneuve has compared Kimi Antonelli's recent success to that of Michael Schumacher while explaining why George Russell holds an edge at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
Villeneuve stated that Antonelli benefits from the "luck of champions." He noted that the 19-year-old Mercedes driver has won five consecutive Grands Prix in China, Japan, Miami, Canada and Monaco.
Antonelli leads the Drivers' Championship by 66 points over Lewis Hamilton in second place. George Russell sits third, two points behind Hamilton.
Villeneuve told Sky Sports F1 that Russell's smoother driving style suits the slippery Barcelona track better than Antonelli's approach. Russell topped the first and third practice sessions this weekend.
The Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix is scheduled to start at 3pm local time on Sunday 14 June.
