Justice is examining digital currency operations by Cabinet Chief Manuel Adorni in a probe for alleged illicit enrichment. Minister Patricia Bullrich requested he submit a sworn asset declaration, sparking internal tensions with Karina Milei.
Prosecutor Gerardo Pollicita requested information from digital platforms and the Central Bank on accounts, virtual wallets and financial products belonging to Adorni, his wife Bettina Angeletti and the firm MasBe. The data received shows movements of minor amounts compared with the cash figures listed in the case.
Banking secrecy for Adorni and Angeletti was lifted a month ago. Pollicita is now advancing measures to reconstruct the financial movements and possible asset inconsistencies.
Bullrich demanded that Adorni submit an early sworn declaration to explain his assets. The request opened a dispute with Karina Milei, the official's main political backer. In a Cabinet meeting, President Javier Milei asked for support for Adorni.
