Lola Young makes first public appearance since onstage collapse

Lola Young appeared publicly for the first time in three months at Lily Allen’s Christmas event in London on December 19, following her onstage collapse in September. The 24-year-old English pop star posed for photos with Allen and Olivia Rodrigo. In an Instagram post the next day, she expressed gratitude for support and hinted at a gradual return to performing.

Lola Young collapsed onstage on September 27 during her performance at the All Things Go Festival at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, New York. The incident led her to cancel remaining shows, including a set at the All Things Go Festival in Washington, D.C., as well as tour dates in the U.K. and North America. Prior to the collapse, Young had withdrawn from Audacy’s We Can Survive concert at New Jersey’s Prudential Center the day before, with her manager citing a sensitive mental health matter.

About a week earlier, the Grammy-nominated artist had released her third album, I’m Only F–king Myself. In the aftermath, she announced on social media, “I’m going away for a while. It pains me to say I have to cancel everything for the foreseeable future. I really hope you’ll give me a second chance once I’ve had some time to work on myself and come back stronger.”

On Saturday, December 20, Young shared her first Instagram post since the incident: “I just wanted to express gratitude to everyone who has given me time and space to gather myself and get my head in a better place. I’ve felt so much love and support from you all and it has helped more than you will ever know.” She added, “I am hoping to gradually get back to performing and continuing pursuing my dreams. Happy holidays to you all and can’t wait to see you in 2026.” Concluding, she wrote, “Life is a journey, nothing is perfect but today I am doing well. All my love always, Lola.”

In October, Young’s lawyers filed a legal dispute in London, alleging that producer Carter Young claimed unearned songwriting credits on four unspecified songs of hers. Her recent appearance at Allen’s event marks a step toward recovery, though she emphasized prioritizing mental health.
