Madonna's album Confessions II has debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. The singer shared her surprise and gratitude on Instagram following the release.
Madonna's Confessions II reached the top spot on the Billboard 200 after its release on July 3. The album marks her tenth number one on the chart and makes her the first artist to achieve this in the 1980s, 2000s, 2010s and 2020s.
In an Instagram post on July 13, Madonna wrote that she was grateful and surprised by the reception. She thanked her fans and collaborators, noting that her goal was to make people dance this summer.
The 16-track album includes the duet Bring Your Love with Sabrina Carpenter. It was accompanied by a short film that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in June.
The album's success comes after a release party held in Queens on July 11. Madonna said she remains pinching herself over the worldwide number one position.
