The hearing in the trial over Diego Maradona's death was halted on Thursday after his daughter Gianinna became distressed upon seeing autopsy images of her father. Accused doctor Leopoldo Luque displayed the material during his testimony.
The Oral Criminal Court No. 7 of San Isidro decided to suspend the session after Gianinna Maradona left the room in tears. The former footballer's daughter insulted Luque and suffered an emotional crisis upon seeing the photographs and videos from the autopsy.
Neurosurgeon Leopoldo Luque requested to expand his statement and began projecting the forensic material without realizing Gianinna was present. Lawyer Fernando Burlando asked for a recess and noted that the situation was very violent.
The judges scheduled the continuation of statements by Luque and psychologist Carlos Díaz for Tuesday, May 19. Doctor Mario Schiter, who supervised the autopsy at the family's request, testified before the interruption.
