On December 2, a Santa Claus officially recognized by the Santa Claus Foundation of Finland arrived at Chubu Centrair International Airport in Nagoya. Arriving on a Finnair flight, Santa, clad in a red outfit and sporting a long white beard, waved to passengers and called out “Merry Christmas!” to spread holiday cheer.
He engaged with around 140 families through handshakes and photo opportunities, creating joyful moments amid the travel bustle. A 6-year-old boy from Kasugai, Aichi Prefecture, who met Santa with his mother, grandmother, and younger sister, remarked, “His hands were huge.” The boy added, “I’m so glad I got to meet him,” capturing the excitement of the encounter.
The visit brought a festive touch to the airport during the Christmas season, offering families a memorable experience and enhancing the holiday atmosphere for travelers.
