PCC member wanted for three crimes arrested in São Paulo

São Paulo's Civil Police arrested a man known as “Ram”, a member of the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC), on Monday (5/1), wanted for attempted robbery resulting in death, attempted homicide, and illegal possession of a restricted firearm. The capture took place at the 55th Police District in the city's east zone, where he was caught with police-interest items. “Ram” has a history of violent actions against police and civilians in Osasco.

The arrest of “Ram” marks progress in cracking down on criminal activities linked to the PCC, one of Brazil's largest crime factions. According to the Civil Police investigation, the suspect had three outstanding judicial warrants. The first, a preventive arrest warrant, was for attempted robbery resulting in death and criminal association in Osasco. The second, also preventive, related to qualified attempted homicide in the same city, where he shot a 9-year-old child during an escape. The third, a conviction warrant, was for illegal possession of a restricted-use firearm.

During the approach in Parque São Rafael, police found “Ram” with a ballistic vest, a magazine and 9mm ammunition, gloves, and investigative notes. He is identified as a member of an organization specialized in bank robberies, including an ATM heist where a security guard was shot in the chest and a customer injured.

“Ram”'s record includes attempts on law enforcement officers' lives. In April 2022, in Osasco, he fired shots at a civil police officer's face during a Deic's 5th Heritage Delegation arrest attempt. In December 2023, during another Military Police action in Osasco, he shot at a military police officer while fleeing suspicion of a local mechanic's homicide, again wounding the 9-year-old child.

The capture was both in fulfillment of the warrants and for a crime in flagrante delicto, and “Ram” remains at the disposal of justice. There are no contradictions in the information released by the police.
