Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) ruled out a fire at its Ingeniero Antonio M. Amor refinery in Salamanca, Guanajuato, on Friday. The blaze occurred on a nearby private plot without impacting company operations. The refinery continues to operate normally.
Pemex issued a statement clarifying that no incident occurred in its facilities posing risk to personnel, infrastructure, or the surrounding community. The refinery, located in Salamanca municipality, meets its production programs under safe conditions.
The fire started on a private plot unrelated to Pemex operations and did not affect its processes. "There is no fire at the Pemex refinery in Salamanca; it is operating normally. The fire was on a private plot near the facilities with no relation to Pemex," the state company stated.
Although the blaze did not impact the refinery, Pemex assisted in mitigation efforts and maintains coordination with local authorities and emergency services. The clarification followed social media posts about an alleged accident at the facility.
Pemex reaffirmed its commitment to safety, environmental protection, and transparent communication with the public.
