Updated Announcement at The Game Awards 2024

At The Game Awards 2024, a new trailer for Phantom Blade Zero confirmed the revised launch date of September 9, 2026—delayed from the previously announced December 12, 2025. The footage showcased Wuxia-inspired narrative and combat, akin to Where Winds Meet and Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.

Timed Exclusivity on PS5

PlayStation has a 12-month console exclusivity deal, as per trailer details: “Also available on PC. Not available on other consoles until at least 12 months after release date.” This delays potential Xbox Series X|S or Nintendo Switch 2 versions until at least September 9, 2027. S-GAME had previously confirmed no full Sony exclusive.

Gameplay Features

Designed as an approachable action-RPG, Phantom Blade Zero incorporates modern mechanics, such as restarting boss fights from phase two after defeat. The main story spans 20-30 hours, plus 20 hours of side content, balancing narrative depth with reduced frustration compared to Souls-likes.
