Developer S-Game has shifted the release of Phantom Blade Zero from September to 29 October. The new date places the wuxia action game three weeks before Grand Theft Auto 6.
Game director Qiwei "Soulframe" Liang told PC Gamer that the team focused solely on product quality when deciding the date. He said 99 percent of the decision came down to development needs rather than any marketing strategy.
"We don't think about any of this. We only think of the quality of the product itself," Liang stated. He added that the extra time will allow the studio to fix more bugs and complete further optimisations before launch.
Phantom Blade Zero is described as a Soulslike action RPG with flashy melee combat. It will arrive on PC and PlayStation 5. A dedicated State of Play showcase with 15 to 20 minutes of new footage is scheduled for later this summer.
