Pokémon Pokopia gets free underwater update and expansion pass

Nintendo announced a free August update for Pokémon Pokopia that adds underwater diving and building. A paid expansion pass with three DLC releases was also revealed during a Nintendo Direct.

The free update arrives this August and introduces a Dive ability. It allows players to swim underwater, build on the seabed, and interact with water-based Pokémon. The expansion pass goes on sale today via the Nintendo eShop. Its first paid DLC, Bubbly Basin, also launches in August and adds a new underwater town along with new Pokémon including Mudkip, Popplio, and Corphish, plus new outfits and furniture. Two further DLC releases are scheduled for late 2026 and early 2027. The pass is not required to access the free Dive feature.
