Huila Police Department seized over 40 kilograms of abandoned marijuana in a rural area of Gigante municipality. The discovery took place at the Balseadero sector of El Quimbo reservoir during road control operations. Authorities estimate the shipment is worth over 15 million pesos and prevented the distribution of about 35,000 doses.
The marijuana shipment was found abandoned beside the road linking Garzón and Gigante municipalities, in the Balseadero sector of El Quimbo reservoir. Preliminary investigations by Huila Police indicate that those responsible left it there due to intensified controls on this road corridor, planning to return later to collect and move it elsewhere in the department.
Officers seized the over 40 kilograms of drugs and handed them over to the Attorney General's Office for judicial proceedings. Initial estimates place the street value above 15 million pesos.
The operation prevented the distribution of roughly 35,000 doses of the substance. Huila Police are ongoing investigations to identify those responsible and trace the shipment's origin and intended destination.
