أكد المجلس المشترك للأحزاب السياسية في إثيوبيا أن الانتخابات العامة السابعة ستعلن عن انتصار إثيوبيا من خلال أصوات الشعب.

صرح الرئيس سليمان أيلي بأن المجلس يعمل من أجل نجاح الانتخابات السابعة عبر الاستفادة من الدروس المستخلصة من الانتخابات الوطنية السادسة، مشيراً إلى إتمام الاستعدادات لما قبل الانتخابات وتسجيل المرشحين رقمياً بنجاح. وقد أنشأ المجلس لجنة لمتابعة الانتخابات بهدف دراسة الظروف المواتية مع المجلس الوطني للانتخابات. وحث الأحزاب على ضرورة الالتزام بقانون الانتخابات خلال فترة الصمت الانتخابي التي بدأت في 20 من شهر غنبوت. ومن المقرر أن يدلي الناخبون بأصواتهم في 24 من شهر غنبوت عام 2018 حسب التقويم الإثيوبي، وفقاً لجدول المجلس، حيث تمت دعوة الناخبين لإظهار التزامهم ببناء نظام ديمقراطي من خلال الممارسة العملية.
