Russian President Vladimir Putin left Beijing on Wednesday night, concluding his state visit to China. During the visit, he held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The leaders agreed to extend the China-Russia Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation and signed multiple cooperation documents.
This marked Putin's 25th trip to China. Xi Jinping and Putin held talks at the Great Hall of the People, attended a signing ceremony for cooperation documents, and visited a photo exhibition. They also attended the opening ceremony of the China-Russia Years of Education.
Xi stated that China-Russia relations have entered a new stage of greater achievements and faster development. Bilateral trade exceeded 200 billion U.S. dollars for the third consecutive year in 2025, with China remaining Russia's largest trading partner for 16 straight years.
China announced the extension of its visa-free policy for Russian citizens until December 31, 2027. The two countries also issued a joint statement advocating a multipolar world and a new type of international relations.
Putin said Russia-China relations have reached an unprecedented level and serve as a paradigm of comprehensive strategic coordination.
