Three weather systems to bring rains across much of the country

Most parts of the Philippines may face rainy weather this week due to three weather systems, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

The easterlies will dominate weather in several areas, while extreme northern Luzon and southern Mindanao will be influenced by the northeast monsoon and the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), PAGASA stated.

Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms from the easterlies are forecast for Bicol and Eastern Visayas, as well as the provinces of Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan, Aklan, Capiz, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Davao Oriental. Batanes will see cloudy and rainy conditions due to the northeast monsoon.

Fair weather with possible rainshowers or thunderstorms from the ITCZ is expected in SOCCSKSARGEN and BARMM regions, along with Sulu and Davao Occidental. Metro Manila and the rest of the country may experience similar effects from the easterlies.

PAGASA has not detected any low-pressure area within the Philippine area of responsibility. Moderate to strong winds and coastal waters are projected for northern and eastern Luzon, with light to moderate conditions elsewhere in the country.
