Two French nationals died on Sunday in the crash of a small plane in northern Morocco. The aircraft was flying between Montpellier and Tit Mellil with a planned stop at Cherif Al Idrissi Airport.
The incident occurred near Cherif Al Idrissi Airport close to Al Hoceima. According to reports, the plane experienced a sudden loss of altitude shortly after takeoff.
The victims, a pilot and a passenger both of French nationality, were taken to the provincial Mohammed VI Hospital in Al Hoceima. Their deaths were confirmed upon arrival.
The wreckage of the aircraft is currently undergoing detailed technical examinations to determine the causes of the accident, according to a source close to the case confirmed by AFP.
