Waxahatchee covers This Is Lorelei’s “Where’s Your Love Now”

Waxahatchee has released a cover of “Where’s Your Love Now” by This Is Lorelei for the deluxe expansion of the 2024 album Box for Buddy, Box for Star. Katie Crutchfield collaborated with Nate Amos, the artist behind This Is Lorelei, on the studio version. The full album arrives on April 17 via Double Double Whammy.

Waxahatchee, the project of Katie Crutchfield, is the latest artist to contribute a cover to Box for Buddy, Box for Star (Super Deluxe), an expansion of Nate Amos’ 2024 album under his This Is Lorelei moniker. Amos also fronts Water From Your Eyes. Crutchfield joined Amos in the studio for her take on “Where’s Your Love Now,” now available to stream as reported by Pitchfork on April 14. The expanded album features additional covers, including “Perfect Hand” by Power Snatch—the duo of Hayley Williams and Daniel James—as well as contributions from MJ Lenderman, Jeff Tweedy, Snail Mail, Tim Heidecker, and Sasami. In a press release, Waxahatchee said: “I’m honored to be included in this re-record project as the album Box for Buddy, Box for Star has meant so much to me these last few years. I think Nate is one of the best songwriters of this moment, making music that feels current and timeless and also somehow ahead of a curve. When I heard ‘Where’s Your Love Now’ I thought it was one of the best songs I’ve ever heard.” This follows Waxahatchee’s recent cover of Kathleen Edwards’ “Six O’ Clock News” from 2002, released last month with Brennan Wedl.
