YPF signed a mandate letter with BID Invest to structure up to US$500 million in financing for road works in Neuquén.
YPF president and CEO Horacio Marín confirmed the agreement. The funds will support road infrastructure improvements in Neuquén province, essential for Vaca Muerta growth.
The deal is part of the company's Plan 4x4, which aims to quadruple its value and establish it as a global energy exporter by 2030. The Añelo area faces congestion from trucks hauling sand for hydraulic fracturing.
Vaca Muerta consumes nearly 7 million tons of sand annually, with projections reaching 9 million tons by 2028. This creates around 300,000 truck trips per year.
Neuquén is advancing paving projects and a 60-kilometer bypass through public-private trusts. In parallel, YPF is developing the Argentina LNG project.
